The company owns two parabolic trough solar thermal plants (CSP) named ASTE 1a and ASTE 1b, with a total installed capacity of 49.9 MW each. These facilities are in daily operation since 2012 and evacuate the energy produced to the transmission grid through the 220-kV
Manzanares substation. Each power plant currently has 120 SENER Trough®-2 parabolic trough loops, with space reserved for more loops and the installation of molten salt storage tanks.
These two plants produce enough solar electricity to meet the needs of 57,000 homes in Spain, avoiding the emission of 62,560 tonnes of CO2.
