Improving energy import capacity from the North and Northeast regions of Brazil is the objective of Celeo Brasil with the award of Lot 3 of the ANEEL auction held on 15 December in São Paulo..
Celeo Brasil was awarded Lot 3 of the ANEEL – Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (Leilão 2/2023) auction that took place on 15 December at Bovespa’s headquarters in São Paulo. This transmission project involves an annual remuneration (RAP) of 101.2 million reais (around 19 million euros) for 30 years.
The project consists of the financing, construction and operation of a 500 kV, single circuit, four-conductor per phase line between the Marimbondo 2 substation (Minas Gerais) and the Campinas substation (São Paulo), including the installation of line reactors at both substations. The line will be 388 kilometres long and will run through 32 municipalities in the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo.
The planned investment for this project is 1.15 billion reais, almost 213 million euros, and will involve the creation of 2,058 direct jobs during the construction period. The purpose of this infrastructure is to improve energy import capacity from the north and northeast regions of the country.
This is the second project awarded to Celeo in ANEEL’s auctions this year, following the award of Lot 6 in June, that comprises financing, construction, and operation of a transmission line in 500kV SE Xingó – SE Camaçari II, a 357-kilometre double circuit project that will connect the entire northeast region of the country.
