Celeo has received authorization from the National Electricity Coordinator (CEN) for expansion works in the DATE concession
On May 4, 2020, Celeo received authorization through Exempt Resolution No. 71 issued by the National Electric Coordinator (CEN) for the execution of the transmission works of the project “Expansion in SE Illapa and Expansion in SE Cumbre”. These works are awarded directly to the current owner of the substations, Diego de Almagro Transmisora de Energía (DATE), based on article 102 of the General Electricity Services Law.
The new facilities at the Illapa substation consist of the expansion of the main busbars of the 220kV yard, breaker-and-a-half type, to allow the connection of the “Diego de Almagro Sur” generation project.
The work at the Cumbre substation consists of increasing capacity by installing an autotransformers bank 500 / 220kV, with 750MVA capacity. The new equipment will share the reserve unit of the existing bank. Additionally, the project includes the expansion of the 500kV bars to allow the connection of the new bank.
The construction term is 36 months for the expansion of the Cumbre substation and 15 months for the expansion of the Illapa substation. The total investment value is $ 18.6 million.
